Ninja Pirate Supermodels
An "indie" film being made in Austin. EricLundquist is working as the "Robotics Consultant" on the project. This page documents some of the special effects that are going into the movie.

Froggo Prop Sketches
It was decided that instead of using a campy 50's style brain, that an evil creature (code named "Froggo") would be created. Eric would build the animatronic frame and other people would provide the skin and base.

Froggo Construction
Some photos of "Froggo" as he evolves.
A base was built in order to mount all of the animatronic devices and actuators that will make Froggo come alive.
The eyes are the central aspect and are being built first. The eyes must tilt and pan. Cork Bobbers from Academy make up the eye. Plumbing pvc pipe cut into thin slices make for inexpensive gimbals. Flower shop wire from Hobby Lobby provides inexpensive push rods. Eventually this design was abandoned.
Status Aug 19, 2006 - Final measurements to match up the froggo skeleton and animatronics with his alter ego which will be the model for his skin that will fit over the frame.
Status Aug 26, 2006 - Froggo got some more "meat" on his bones and the eyes were changed out for the "cat" eyes. Also, the "gizmo" is shown in the closed position.

- Sept 1, 2006 - Froggo gets a pair of lungs to breathe with.
- Sept 1, 2006 - Side view of Froggo's lungs. They are made from 2 bicycle tubes and inflated via 5/8" ice maker tubing.

- Sept 9, 2006 - Reworked Froggo's eyes and added the beak movement.
Froggo Movie (10MB Quicktime) Demonstration of basic Froggo movements. Arms are not attached yet. Do a "Save Target As..." instead of playing directly.
/!\ Update Sept 16, 2006 - Moved arms in and reworked lighting. The custom animatronic software works!!!

Final Configuration? - (3.3MB Quicktime) Final configuration with single LED in forehead. Mounting the LED's on the swingarm flexed the wires causing them to eventually break. Therefore they need to be fixed.
