Maker Faire Austin October 2008

This was the biggest event for The Robot Group in 2008. I believe we brought out more "stuff" and had more help then for any other event of 2008. The "craziness" started the night before on Friday, with setting things up and being sure they all worked. Vern Graner and others worked to revamp Ponginator, getting him ready for a long road trip. He arrived being towed behind Vern's Vehicle. What a sight to see. Once erected, Ponginator drew the crowds as usually, even doing a Rick Roll or two and ending with a bang on Sunday. The rest of The Robot Group volunteers were in the main building on the top deck just above the Tesla coils. There were large crowds around our tables most of the time. You could see the kid's faces fill with amazement as they could look, listen and touch the different exhibit. It was exhausting, but gratifying to all. Here are a few pictures.
