I was elected to start as president of the group starting in 2010. My
goal is to do whatever it takes to help grow the membership, become
involved in projects and public events, and to generally get the group
moving forward to see just what we are capable of. This is one of the
most creative groups of people that I have met and I would very much
like for the community to see what we can do, and to want to be a part
of something as unique as The Robot Group.
About me
I have an interest in CNC machines, electronics, and working with
others as both a teacher and to learn from the talent pool we have
here. I am currently looking into other area groups to build new
relationships and build a network of talent within the Austin area. I
am currently writing an HTML based electronic book that I would love to
have used by the school systems to get students interested in
electronics and robotics. I have found much to my dismay that many
students are not familiar with tools and construction or
manufacturing... and if this is not brought to them, I feel the skill
sets will be lost to other countries. I want very much to draw the next
generations into building, learning, and doing new things.
Electronic Book
I am working on an electronics book that will be offered as a robotic kit when completed. For now you can see my current progress here ELECTRONICS ONLINE BOOK some areas are not written yet so expect to see some missing pages. I am converting this from an older version so some of the formatting will change as well. I welcome your feedback on this project.
